Rotary Valve (Airlock)

Rotary Valve (Airlock)

Rotary Valves (air locks) are an important component of pneumatic conveying systems. They control the flow of powder, granule or other granular materials from silos, hoppers, cyclones or filters. Rotary valves are used to prevent air from passing between the inlet and outlet areas of the material under the influence of pressure, vacuum or gravity. Rotary valves help the process run smoothly and efficiently by providing an even and consistent product flow. Rotary valves are also called star feeders, air locks, rotary feeders or cell wheels.
Working Principle:

The basic principle of rotary valves is the controlled transfer of material from a rotating star-shaped drum. As the material passes through the star-shaped channels of the drum, an even flow is achieved. The drum rotates at regular intervals and the material is distributed evenly. In this way, rotary valves control the flow of material and ensure that the desired quantities of material are distributed quickly and precisely. Rotary valves are an important component of pneumatic transfer systems. They control the flow of various granular or powder materials from silos, hoppers, cyclones, filters, mixers, etc. Rotary valves are used to prevent air flow between the collection and discharge areas of the material under the influence of pressure, vacuum or gravity.

Product Information
Flow Through Rotary Valve:

DF Series: It is a general purpose rotary valve model. The material inlet is above and the material outlet is below the rotary valve.

Direct Blow Rotary Valve:

DB Series: This model widely used in pneumatic conveying applications. It is used to transport materials that tend to clog and stick to the walls, such as flour and cement dust. The material inlet is on the rotary valve. There are pipe connection holes on both covers of the rotary valve. The flowing material is transferred to this pipeline.

Offset Rotary Valve:

VZ Series: The VZ series air lock has been developed for the transfer of sensitive materials such as plastic granules, sunflower seeds, nuts, hazelnuts, peanuts without damaging them. The cell wheel has inlet and outlet ports with special geometry. The material inlet is above and the material outlet is below the air lock.

Custom Designed Rotary Valve:

They are robust and high quality special design models to meet the most demanding applications. Elit Process supplies non-standard and high performance rotary valves specific to customer needs.
